State Minister Dr. Wolfgang Heubisch
Dr. Wolfgang Heubisch has been the Bavarian State Minister of Sciences, Research and the Arts since 2008. He was born and raised in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, and comes from a family deeply interested in art. After finishing "Gymnasium" with a diploma qualifying for university admission and gaining a vocational degree in banking, he studied business administration and dentistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. While working as a dentist in Munich, Dr. Heubisch held a number of voluntary positions (Director and Vice-President of the Bavarian State Board of Dentists, President of the Association of "Freie Berufe" in Bavaria, and Vice-President of the Bavarian Business Association vbw).
The father of three children has been a member of the liberal party of Germany (Free Democratic Party, FDP) since 1988, focusing his political work on economy, education and health, and became a member of the Bavarian parliament in 2008.
