A fast and smooth transfer of know-how and technology from the universities to industry is a vital factor in the success of the Bavarian economy. As mediating partners between academe on the one hand and commerce and industry on the other, the universities' Technology Transfer Centres have an important role to play. For more information:

University Patents

Patents are the links par excellence between research and development on the one hand and commercial application on the other. To mobilise the huge potential of patentable inventions at Bavarian universities, the Bavarian Patent Alliance ("Bayerische Patentallianz GmbH" BayPAT) has been created.
